Meals On Wheels of Sarasota announced that it has partnered with the Bank of America Charitable Foundation to address food insecurity in the community. The bank’s $20,000 contribution will support the organization’s mission to deliver meals and perform important safety checks with those who are unable to leave their home or prepare a meal for themselves.

Meals On Wheels of Sarasota hand delivers nearly 700 nutritious, cooked, prepared and packaged meals each day to homebound individuals. Due to COVID-19, the organization is experiencing an increase in the demand of the meal program that helps those in need maintain a healthy lifestyle while living independently. The Bank of America Charitable Foundation recently announced $100 million to support communities around the world during this time of need. As part of this effort, the bank is working with local nonprofits to provide assistance to those in urgent need amid the coronavirus pandemic.
