Three Siesta Key Homes Made It to HGTV's 'Ultimate House Hunt'
Three Siesta Key homes have been named finalists in HGTV's annual Ultimate House Hunt, a monthlong online event showcasing extraordinary homes for sale. The homes are chosen from across the country and fall into eight categories: Amazing Kitchens, Beachfront Homes, Countryside Retreats, Curb Appeal, Downtown Dwellings, Homes With a History, Outdoor Escapes and Waterside Homes.
Two of the local finalists made it to the Beachfront Homes category and one to the Waterfront Homes category. What they have in common is lots of beach access, panoramic water views and tons of square footage. Readers can vote on their favorite finalists through Aug. 3. Let’s take a look at our local stars.
7340 Point of Rocks Road, Siesta Key
It’s no surprise we wrote about this show stopper when it was for sale in 2020—or that it's one of the 10 finalists in the Beachfront Homes category. It’s set 12 feet above the beach on a rocky cliff overlooking the water—a special treat amid Florida's flatness. Down a flight of wooden stairs, you’ll find ancient limestone rocks, with tide pools of crabs and other sea creatures.
The property spans 15,523 square feet. The main house has four bedrooms and there’s a guest house, as well, with a large swimming pool separating the two.
It sold in 2021 for $3.8 million and is now listed for just less than $6 million.

8324 Sanderling Road, Siesta Key
Built in 1989, this home on the Gulf of Mexico is also one the top 10 finalists in the Beachfront Homes category and sits behind the private gates of the Sanderling Club. The 1.3-acre site spans 150 feet across the Gulf of Mexico shoreline and has a three-bedroom house and a one-bedroom cottage.
There's also wrap-around terrace, screened lanai, private pool and a private dock on Heron Lagoon that offers kayak and canoe access. It’s listed for $9 million.

5131 Jungle Plum Road, Siesta Key
This home is one of the 10 finalists from the Waterside Homes category. The two-story, six-bedroom, six-and-a-half-bathroom home spans 6,369 square feet and is located in Hidden Harbor on the northern end of Siesta Key. It sits on over three-quarters of an acre with lush gardens and bumps up against 150 feet of water frontage.
Boaters have deep water access with two boat lifts and a floating dock for easy access to kayaking and paddle boarding, a 500-gallon saltwater aquarium and a media room.
Built in 2001, a 2023 remodel has updated it from top to bottom and it's now on the market for $9.98 million. It sold for $4.6 million in 2019.
