Leaders of Sarasota Bayfront 20:20, the coalition of groups dedicated to smartly redeveloping 42 acres of bayfront land near the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall, recently announced plans to form a new nonprofit that will guide planning for the land in question. According to a presentation delivered to the Sarasota City Commission Monday, the new organization will create a planning team and find private sector funding for the planning process, while continuing to work with local stakeholders. The group will voluntarily follow the Florida Sunshine Law and hold open-to-the-public board meetings.
