State College of Florida, Sarasota-Manatee is partnering with the Sarasota Aero Club to offer a Private Pilot Ground School at State College's campus located at 8000 S. Tamiami Trail, Venice. The Private Pilot Ground School is the first step in obtaining a private pilot certificate. The ground school offers the aeronautical knowledge a private pilot must have, including aerodynamics, how the systems of a plane work, weather conditions to avoid, FAA regulations, principles of navigation and stall and spin awareness. Incident and accident reporting requirements also will be covered, as well as aeromedical factors.
