Retail Trade Group Expects Bump in Holiday Spending

The National Retail Federation expects an increase in holiday retail sales of between 3.6 and 4 percent from last year's numbers.

The National Retail Federation announced last week that it expects retail sales in November and December to increase between 3.6 and 4 percent from last year's sales. That estimate puts total predicted sales between $678.7 and $682 billion, up from $655.8 billion in 2016. (The figures do not include automobile sales, gasoline purchases and restaurant spending.)
