Visible Men Academy (VMA) has received a $27,200 grant from Truist Foundation. The grant will fund three VMA programs, including after-school tutoring, the FSA SHINE Camp, and VMA’s Summer Literacy Program.  Two of the three programs funded  are designed to prevent "summer slide"—the time during summer when students aren’t focused on academics. Each of these programs—the FSA SHINE Camp and Summer Literacy Program—focus on preparing students for immediate success in the fall. The third program will provide tutoring to students as needed during the academic year.
