The Suncoast Black Arts Collaborative Adds Two New Team Members

Plus: Manatee County has a new acting administrator, Selby Gardens selects a new chief operating officer and more new hires and promotions.

The Suncoast Black Arts Collaborative, a nonprofit that uses the arts to nurture inclusion and diversity across the regional arts and cultural landscape, recently named Sharon Preston-Folta as the program manager for the collaborative's Arts and Racial Justice Discovery Series and selected Jaiden Johnson as the new community outreach manager for its Syllabus of Color of Color initiative.

The Manatee County Commission recently selected Charles Bishop as the county's new acting administrator. Bishop was previously a deputy county administrator. His appointment follows the departure of Lee Washington, who was selected as acting administrator in February after the resignation of former administrator Scott Hopes.

Marie Selby Botanical Gardens recently selected Crystal Bailey as the gardens' new chief operating officer and general counsel. She joined the Selby staff in January, when she was hired as the organization's chief administrative officer and general counsel.

The breakfast and lunch restaurant chain First Watch, which is headquartered in Manatee County, recently appointed Irene Chang Britt to its board of directors. Chang Britt was previously a president with Pepperidge Farm and an executive with Campbell Soup Company.

Christopher Alan Homes recently named Carissa Anderson as the company's new corporate vice president of sales. Anderson was previously the firm's director of sales. Headqurtered in Fort Myers, Christopher Alan Homes builds homes in Charlotte, Lee and Sarasota counties, as well as in areas on the east coast of Florida.

The All Star Children's Foundation recently added Karen Holbrook to its board of directors. Holbrook is the regional chancellor at the Sarasota-Manatee campus of the University of South Florida.

The Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Sun Coast board of directors recently selected Michael Nachef as the board's new chair. Nachef is the vice president of government relations for Lee Health.

JFCS of the Suncoast recently hired Shayndel Kahn as the nonprofit's rabbinic community chaplain. Kahn previously served as a chaplain in Massachusetts and at a hospice facility in California.
