Sarasota Memorial Healthcare Foundation Raises $1.4 Million at Annual Gala

Sarasota Memorial Healthcare Foundation raised $1.4 million at its 7th annual Hospital Gala at The Ritz-Carlton, Sarasota, on January 6, 2024

The Haven recently received a $50,000 grant from the Gould Family Trust Foundation at Gulf Coast Community Foundation for a Culinary Training Academy with Rise Up Café. The program, “The Culinary Academy: Empowering Through Experience!,” is designed to provide individuals with disabilities the opportunity to gain valuable on-the-job experience and training in the dynamic and rewarding field of food service.

Manatee Community Foundation recently celebrated more than $56 million in community impact since its inception in 1998. In 2023, the foundation awarded 152 scholarships and more than 825 grants supporting nonprofit organizations in our community​ and beyond.

The Bay Park Conservancy has raised a third $5 million in funding from private sources, triggering a third $1 million match from The Patterson Foundation’s current challenge match, resulting in a total cumulative Patterson Foundation gift of more than $8 million to date.

Safe Children Coalition recently received a grant of $25,000 from the Gulf Coast Community Foundation's Unaccompanied Homeless Youth Initiative for Schoolhouse Link unaccompanied or homeless youth room and apartment rental subsidies. 

SimplyDwell Homes recently donated $2,500 to sponsor Palma Sola Botanical Park’s Winter Nights Under the Lights in December.

Bank of America recently granted $30,000 to All Faiths Food Bank to help provide nutritious foods to individuals in need within the Sarasota community. This is the 10th year Bank of America has provided funds to strengthen the food bank’s hunger relief efforts, with all grants totaling over $250,000.

Resurrection House, Inc. has received a grant from the Community Foundation of Sarasota County for $9,788. The grant will fund the implementation and first-year support of an upgraded client management software solution called MissionTracker.
