Illustrator John Pirman admires classic statues and a classic car on St. Armands Circle.
Artist John Pirman was admiring the exotic automobiles at one of St. Armands’ car shows when he was struck by the juxtaposition of a modern classic—the bright-red Ferrari—with two examples of classic antiquity—statues once owned by John Ringling and called The Allegory of Sarasota. “The Ferrari seemed right at home,” says Pirman. “Even Aphrodite looked on approvingly.”
