One of Sarasota's best restaurants, Florence and the Spice Boys has announced it will be opening a second location, this time in the University Town Center area.

Florence and the Spice Boys first started as a food truck in 2019 before opening a brick-and-mortar location in The Landings in late 2022.

"It's hard for us to believe that we are making this announcement; it feels like yesterday we were still in the food truck, dreaming of one restaurant, let alone two,” co-owner Florence Schmitt said in a press release. “We are incredibly excited to get started, truly humbled by the opportunity and more than ready to see our Lakewood Ranch friends more often."

Schmitt owns the restaurant alongside her husband Steven Schmitt and business partner Carl Kolber. The three will continue to collaborate inside the new 2,500-square-foot restaurant space. Guests can anticipate similar eclectic décor, punctuated by lush greenery, alongside favorite menu items inspired by the Middle East. Additionally, the trio promises to add a few new dishes to the menu.

The restaurant is slated to open late this year or at the beginning of 2025. We'll keep you posted.
