Selby Public Library will be open from 1-5 p.m. on Sundays starting Jan. 26.

Sarasota County Libraries and Historical Resources will reinstate Sunday operating hours at the Selby and Frances T. Bourne Jacaranda public libraries starting Jan. 26. The libraries will be open from 1-5 p.m. every Sunday. The county has not offered Sunday library hours since 2012, when it had to reduce hours as a cost-saving measure. The reinstatement is aimed at increasing library access to residents and students following the county commission's approval of the program in 2019. Small celebrations with refreshments are planned at both libraries on Jan. 26 to mark the reinstatement of Sunday hours.
