Sarasota County has announced that county libraries will reopen to the public on Monday, June 15. Nine out of 10 county libraries will be open with modified hours. The Osprey Public Library at Historic Spanish Point will remain closed until further notice.

Patrons are encouraged to reserve their materials prior to arrival and shorten browsing time while in the library. New library hours are 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.

The use of computers and the reference desk will be limited, as patrons are encouraged to continue using virtual library programming and online resources. Some locations may have modifying floor plans to accommodate for social distancing and Centers for Disease Control and Prevent guidelines. Plexiglass will also be installed at some service points.

Curbside pickup will continue for those with items placed on hold. All due dates for materials are extended until Wednesday, July 1.
