The John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art is the recipient of a grant from the Eugene F. and Elizabeth Hull Fund of the Manatee Community Foundation. The $10,000 grant will help support The Ringling’s upcoming collaboration with artist Rhodnie Desir.

Conversations in Motion: Rhodnie Desir is a multidimensional performance and exhibition that will open Nov. 14, 2021. Desir, a Canadian dancer and choreographer of Haitian descent whose work has focused on cultural investigations through dance heritage and provoking questions concerning the dancing body, will bring her Bow’t Trail project to the museum. The exhibition will be a digital and visual experience with four distinct areas of interest. Additionally, Bow’t Trail Retrospek: A Journey through the Dances and Rhythms of the Americas will be presented Dec. 3 and 4 in the Historic Asolo Theater. Community engagement elements of the collaboration will include outreach work with Booker High School students.
