Sheila Miller, vice-president of philanthropy at the Child Protection Center (CPC),has been named the "Empowering Woman of the Year" by the Venice Area Chamber of Commerce at its Women Empowering Women event. Miller's history of advocating for children includes as a teacher and principal, as well as her tenure for the past 11 years at the CPC, whose mission is the prevention, intervention and treatment of child abuse.
